Our Story

El Dorado First Assembly has a rich history of over a hundred years. The church was founded in 1921 as the Full Gospel Mission of El Dorado, and affiliated with the Assemblies of God fellowship in 1924 and changed the name to First Assembly of God. From these humble beginnings the church has had a continuous ministry in the city of El Dorado, Arkansas. In 1992, the church moved to its current location, now a multi-building campus to worship and equip believers to go out and fulfill the great commission. We are grateful for the past, but we know the best is yet to come!

What if learning to pray is not only about finding the right words, but learning how to quiet the noise long enough to hear God?

The Anatomy of the Voice is a practical prayer training designed to help you develop a deeper, more focused prayer life. Travis Rosenthal from the World Prayer Center will help us explore how to create a place of solitude with God, even in the middle of a distracted world, and how those same principles can shape the way we pray together.

You will learn how to push back both outward distractions and the inward noise that can make prayer difficult. We will explore the biblical practice of meditation, not emptying the mind, but filling it with the truth of Scripture. With an open Bible before us, we will learn to slow down, listen, and allow God to speak through His Word.

Whether prayer already comes naturally to you or you have always wondered, “How do I actually pray?”, this training will give you practical ways to grow.

Come discover what can happen when the distractions grow quiet, the Scriptures become the focus, and prayer becomes a place of encounter with God.
